Fresh Start

This quilt came about as 2025 neared an end, & it looked like I would finish the year without having made a quilt. I had been stuck in a quilt making rut, feeling uninspired, & unmotivated. I needed a “Fresh Start”. I came across a sketch of this quilt pattern in a small sketchbook that I doodle in every now & then. The idea of a simple, colourful scrappy design, sitting on a background of low volume prints, spoke to me. It is my first foray into using low volume fabrics, & I love the fresh feel that they bring. 
 
You'll need a broad palette of colourful scraps, plus a range of low volume background fabrics. A great scrapbuster!
 
The finished size of this quilt is 78” (195cm) square, but easily adapted to the size you’d like.
