'Sweet Something' Quilt Along Week Seven

Week Seven - December 13

This week we are back to cutting - lots & lots of small squares for the Vertical & Horizontal Scrap Rows. It's the perfect opportunity for clearing out some of your scraps bin/box/cupboard/drawer - as the key with these scrappy rows is variety, so the more fabrics you can add in, the better. Then if you need more, dig into the smaller pieces in your stash, & then top it all up from your bigger pieces. Small scale prints work best. So, have a little break from your machine this week. Set yourself up with your pile of fabric pieces & enjoy some choosing, ironing & cutting this week. Perhaps pop on some cheesy Netflix Christmas movies, or listen to some carols, or a new podcast while you work. I hope that you enjoy this process - while I found it a bit tedious by the end, I always enjoy a good scrap bin reduction!

This week's Instagram homework:

  1. search our hashtag (#sweetsomethingquilt), then like & comment on each other's posts; take a look at what everyone else is making

  2. I'd love to see two pictures - one of your big pile of scraps & then another of your cut squares. Kind of a before & after photo shoot.

This week's 'Sweet Something' target: is to cut all (426?!) of your Scrap Row squares.

Christmas Giveaway: Christmas is very near, so this week I will be giving away one of my popular Scraps Bundles, which features a selection of red & green fabrics - perfect for topping up your depleted scrap stash (after all of this week's cutting!). To be eligible, simply complete the homework above.
