Week Four - 22-29 April
This week we continue on with the Smaller Hourglass Blocks. I hope that your first two Smaller Hourglass Blocks came together well. Remember that it's worth having a read of my tips regarding pinning & flipping seams to help with your joins.
Super Special Quilting Offer: my friend Judy, of Furball Farm Quilts machine quilted my "Me Sew Happy" quilt. This is the fifth quilt that Judy has done for me & I have been delighted with them all - there has never been an issue, & always with friendly & efficient service. Judy used the design 'Eye Appeal' for my quilt & you can see it in more detail if you scroll back through my Instagram posts. I think it works a treat with this pattern. As we commenced this quilt along, I reached out to Judy to see if she might have a special offer for "Me Sew Happy" Quilt Along participants & she has delivered! The details are below:
a 20% discount off your choice of quilting designs
plus, Judy can also provide the wadding at a 20% discount
if you're interested, simply follow Judy on Instagram & send her a message
This week's Instagram homework:
search our hashtag (#mesewhappyquilt), & take a look at the Smaller Hourglass Blocks that have been shared so far. Some fabulous stitching is taking place & that has "me sew happy"!!
share a picture of all four Smaller Hourglass Blocks together
This week's "Me Sew Happy" target:
prepare the fabrics that you'd like to use for this week's blocks. These Smaller Hourglass Blocks are perfect for your smaller prints. Again, variety is the key, not too much of any one fabric.
iron your fabrics before you cut - this ensures a better finish
enjoy making your next two Smaller Hourglass Blocks - they're fiddly & a bit pernickety, but get them right & you'll be feeling pretty pleased with yourself!
